| All filming on Kern County roads requires a special event permit from the Kern County Roads Department in addition to a valid Kern County Commercial Filming Permit. |
| Deadlines |
| Allow a minimum of two full working days from receipt of all materials (application, insurance, detour plans, etc.) for processing of a standard application, or five full working days for projects requesting road closures. Traffic control needs – including the availability of closures -- will be determined by the Kern County Roads Department, whose judgment is final. |

| Kern County Roads Department does not issue permits for state or federal highways, or for Kern County’s 11 incorporated cities (Arvin, Bakersfield, California City, Delano, Maricopa, McFarland, Ridgecrest, Shafter, Taft, Tehachapi, Wasco). Permits must be obtained directly from authorized agencies within those jurisdictions. |

| Traffic control in unincorporated Kern County is provided by the California Highway Patrol by agreement with the California Film Commission. Please contact the CFC directly for assignment of officers. |

| Insurance |
| A current certificate of insurance issued directly from the insurance carrier is required at the time of application. No permits will be processed or issued without a valid certificate. Minimum requirement: $1 million bodily injury and general liability coverage for all elements of the activity. |
